Difference between giving gifts to please people and to the needy

We can give gift to someone who already has so many things.  Generally we like to please people (just to make them happy) by giving gifts. But we should also think and start giving gifts to people who are in real need.  Jesus said to help poor and if we help poor and needy, it is like helping Jesus.

Nothing wrong in giving gifts to our friends but we should also start giving gifts to the needy people.
